This website is a state-of-the-art tool that enables anyone with Internet access to draft and submit comments, to access dynamic features (such as interactive maps), and to be notified automatically when new materials are posted.
There are two new postings, one of which will update you on the proposed release date for the draft environmental impact statement (DEIS) for the Giant Sequoia National Monument Management Plan. The second letter informs you of the completion of the giant sequoia grove inventories. Select Monument Planning Update 3, then select Supporting Documents to view the letters.
From January 20, 2010 to February 8, 2010, you had the opportunity to submit references on the website that you believed were relevant to the Giant Sequoia National Monument management plan. You can still select the Science References, listed below, then select the Supporting Documents tab to review the references currently cited in the draft environmental impact statement (DEIS). The Reference Citation Guidelines were posted to show you the format to use when submitting references for review. The final reference list will be released with the DEIS.
Under the Monument Update 2 – Read Only tab, you’ll find several documents relevant to the development of the DEIS and draft management plan. And remember, you can still view the Giant Sequoia National Monument Proclamation. Check it out!
